The real estate agencies in Sofia are explicit, when they state that the property buyers are looking for bigger apartments when compared to the market a year ago. The average living space required is around 80 sq.m, thus the apartments are brighter and bigger. The apartments with one bedroom and price between 40 – 60 000 Euros are the ones on demand, but still there are buyers with better income who want to invest in two-bedroom apartments and even in three-bedroom apartments, when possible. They know that a purchase of a real estate property is not something that one does every day, This is rather something that happens one or two times in the life of the average person in the country. That is why these investors prefer to buy a good property, rather than to regret later.
Most of the people, who are in search of larger Sofia apartments are already owners of a property, but are now in search of a bigger and much more comfortable home. These people have high and stable income and have no previous mortgage, which means that they can afford to take loans, if they need to. The number of the mortgages offered by the banks has increased since the beginning of the year and their average amount has increased too.
