Rentals in Sofia or what do the tenants and tourists want
The rental market in Sofia is feverish like every autumn season. This year however there is a change in the manner of the closing of these deals. The long-term tenants are more focused on the location, the state of the unit and the furnishing package provided. The monthly sum for renting an apartment in Sofia is depending on two main things – its size and its location. The strongest demand is for one-bedroom apartments that are renovated and fully or partially equipped, are supplied with a parking place and are situated in areas with good infrastructure, regular public transport and various amenities.

The short-term tenants are actually tourists and business people who are coming to Sofia for a weekend or several working days, to attend a conference for example. Their requirements are slightly different as they are looking for very centrally situated apartments, which are luxuriously done, fully furnished and equipped to a high standard to provide comfortable, carefree stay in Sofia. The location is one of the key factors for those people, as they insist on being close to the places of interest, the administrative buildings and the good restaurants.
According to the research made of the leading Sofia tourist agencies and property management companies, the foreign tourists who have visited the Bulgarian capital for the first half of the year have significantly increased in number if compared to the same period last year. This is so because the destination is year-round and does not depend on the weather, the accommodation is stylish but still relatively cheap for their standards, while the flights to and from various destinations are increasing in number and decreasing in price.
