Sofia rentals during year 2010
The statistics concerning the Sofia rental market for apartments with one and two bedrooms during year 2010, showed that this segment of the real estate saw a decrease in the number of the signed deals. This happened, as a greater number of people were more active on the sales market, when compared to year 2009, when the world financial crises was at its peak and people were reluctant to take credits and preferred to rent an apartment rather than buy it.

In year 2010 even the luxury rental segment suffered and the number of the rental contracts signed was reduced with almost twenty per cent if compared to year 2009. Naturally, all this led to a reduction of the rental prices in all types of rental apartments, including the small apartments in good but not great condition and the high-quality high-end apartments with two bedrooms or more than two bedrooms.

Another comparison should be made with the rental price per month. If year 2009 was quite strong in terms of rental deals for luxury apartments usually rented by tourists and executives and the rental levels were around 500 Euro per month for the nicely done and well positioned short-term and long-term apartments in Sofia; during year 2010 these price levels went down to approximately 400 Euros. When it comes to the rental price levels for the regular apartments in the various districts of Sofia, that are usually rented by locals, the prices were reduced from 350 Euros per month during year 2009 to 230-250 Euros during year 2010.
