Steady Sofia apartment rentals? Not any more, they are going up.
The first half of year 2008 has already ended and the research made on the Sofia apartments rental market showed that the six month period was characterized with increase in the rental rates. This is due to one of the main characteristics of the rental market in Sofia, namely its constant rather than seasonal character. Most of the experts from some of the best real estate agencies make prognosis that this tendency will continue with the same tempo in the next six months that are to follow. The predictions are for an increase of ten to twenty per cent, compared to the first half when the increase was close to thirty per cent. The most desired neighborhoods by the locals are the emerging Vitosha district and the Students Town, as well as the classical neighborhood Lozenets. The other areas of interest are the residential districts of Mladost and Dianabad, as well as Lyulin and Drujba. The demand is for small to middle-size apartments.
The interest in the central area of Sofia is still extremely high, usually shown by ex-pats, business people and tourists on sightseeing trips.
