Need a good book to read during your stay in Sofia?

If you love books and your favorite pass time is reading and if you plan to stay longer in Sofia, then check the bookstore Nissim on 50, Vasil Levski Blvd. Placed meters away from one of our Sofia apartments – the 1-bedroom Vasil Levski Apartment, this small and romantic bookstore is open every day but on Sundays. During the working week it opens at 11 a.m to close at 7 p.m, while in Saturday it opens at 11 a.m but closes at 5.30 p.m.

The bookstore offers new and old books, beautifully arranged on numerous shelves and there us a cozy reading zone where you can sit and enjoy a book. There are many books in Bulgarian, but also a secton with books in five foreign languages. The price of the used books starts at 5 leva, so you can always find something nice and affordable to read.

Nissim bookstore has nothing to do with the soulless bookstore chains. The small book shop belongs to the daughter of a famous Bulgarian poet and translator – Valeri Petrov and is named after his middle name. Valeri Petrov is also an author of children’s books, a playwright and screenwriter, as well as a nominee for the Nobel Literature Prize.
